After several years and debating a few names, I've finally coming up with a unique and original name that I am happy with.
We've officially graduated from the working title 'NiTL' to the final official name NITECYTE™.
I originally intended to reveal the name with the final Tech Demo 3 update, but that's had some unforeseen setbacks on the design side of things and by the time I realized it two years passed since the last Tech Demo 3 update.
This post can be considered the foreshadowing of a important semi-final update to Tech Demo 3 that contains numerous important QoL (Quality of Life) improvements, fixes, and new audio SFX made by a dedicated and talented sound designer. The time gap between this and the next hope is probably going to be a lot less than the gap between this and the last.
I've updated the devlog, facebook, itch.io links where I can, but
there's always a chance I've missed some so you might encounter a few
broken links.
Speaking of updates and links, NITECYTE™ finally has it's own official website; https://www.nitecyte.com/
To celebrate the reveal of the official name, I've posted an interim update since the last one was so long ago.
This has a whole year worth of subtle but important updates and polishes.
A quick summary of everything this has pending a full releases notes post;
- Fix for projectiles getting tilemap pixels out of bounds (projectile check for out of level geometry)
- Fixed Enemy Hurt SFX checking for Death SFX instead of Hurt
